The first Social Media Breakfast Atlanta event was this morning at the Duluth Diner. At 7:00am, about 20 dedicated Social Media Adventurers gathered to discuss better ways to deploy social media for their businesses.
Ranging from neophytes to experienced, the common thread was a desire to learn and grow.
Bailey Services is adding WordPress sites to their menu of services. WordPress is a great solution for many small businesses and others to use as a complete website, or as a blog platform. It is powerful, flexible and modifiable.
You might recall a few weeks ago I wrote a post wondering if I should change the theme (in a BIG way) on my LaneBailey.com blog. I was looking REALLY hard at the Ikarus theme to replace my Shifter theme system. I had been running the Shifter theme system for around a year and a half, and was quite happy with the performance, but after seeing Ikarus, I really wanted to give it a try.
Technologists and marketers agree that the best way to convert site visitors is to give them EXACTLY what they want as soon as they show up on your website. And for years, the technologically astute and companies with budgets for this sort of thing have built Landing Pages optimized for particular consumers to deliver the information that they desire, right there on the front page.
But us little guys or those that couldn’t design their own pages were locked out.
Two are free, one is (kind of) paid. Two support ‘Magazine’ layouts, one is blog focused. And I am using all three on different sites. Each is flexible, modifiable and free of footer links I find objectionable.
