I get asked that question pretty regularly. I am active here on Active|Rain… I’m even an Ambassador. I’m linked up on LinkedIn. I’m showing my face on FaceBook, with 4 business pages and a personal page. I am a solid light on Flickr. I tweet on Twitter, Digg and find things del.icio.us. I am also on about 50 other networks to a lesser extent… from music to Jeeping and sports cars.
Why do I need a blog since I am using all of those other tools to interact with consumers?
I like Twitter. I communicate with some consumers as ell as some of my peers through Twitter. As an organizer of Social Media Breakfast Atlanta (#smbatl), we use Twitter for promotion as well as to recap… and even during the event. Heck, I have 1200+ followers and almost 2800 updates… obviously I think it is a worthwhile tool.
The first Social Media Breakfast Atlanta event was this morning at the Duluth Diner. At 7:00am, about 20 dedicated Social Media Adventurers gathered to discuss better ways to deploy social media for their businesses.
Ranging from neophytes to experienced, the common thread was a desire to learn and grow.
Just a reminder that we will be hosting the inaugural Social Media Breakfast – Atlanta event on July 23rd. Ken and I are really excited to be involved with this project. Social Media Breakfasts have been happening all of the country. But not in Atlanta until now… and we ARE both a tech town and a social place…
The event will be from 7am to 9am at the Duluth Diner on Peachtree Industrial Blvd, just south of Pleasant Hill Rd. in Duluth.
